FAQ

For beginners, a gasless MIG welder (Flux-Cored MIG) is the easiest option to start with. It doesn’t require a gas cylinder—just plug it in and weld. It’s fast, easy to operate, and perfect for learning the basics. If you're looking to explore multiple welding processes, consider the MIG130 MIG + Lift TIG + MMA 3-in-1 welder. It offers versatile functionality and excellent value for the money.

Best for welding materials from 0.9 mm (20 GA) up to 4 mm (10 GA), including carbon steel, stainless steel, alloy steel, and cast iron.

Included with the MIG130:

1 × Ground Clamp

1 × Electrode Holder

1 × .030" / 2 lb Flux-Cored Welding Wire

1 × 0.8 mm /.030" Contact Tip

1 × 0.9 mm /.035" Contact Tip

What Else You’ll Need:

To start welding safely and effectively, you’ll also need:

A welding helmet (auto-darkening recommended)

Welding gloves

Protective clothing

Spare welding rods (if using the MMA/stick welding function)

The MIG130 mig welder comes with flux-cored MIG, Lift TIG, and stick welding modes. Gasless MIG and stick welding work without external gas, whereas Lift TIG requires an inert gas like argon.

Yes, but it’s simple: Regularly clean dust from the vents. Check cables and connectors for looseness. Keep the machine dry and avoid humid environments. Let the machine cool for a few minutes after each use

If your welder has a TIG mode or supports a MIG aluminum torch/wire, you can weld aluminum. However, for beginners, it’s recommended to start practicing with carbon steel or stainless steel first.

This compact 3-in-1 welder performs MIG, stick, and TIG welding on 110V. Customers said it "packs a punch" with stable output and minimal spatter. Praised for portability, ease of use, and value. Professional welders note it excels for garage/hobby use. Some reported thin sheet metal struggles and short power cord. Great for DIY/home projects.

  • Rock solid output. It is an extremely good little welder for the money.
  • This welder performs great for what it is. The puddle it creates is easy to control.
  • A great value. Much better than cheaper units and comparable to Lincoln welder but compact.

Excellent little welder!

I have owned mine for a year now and liked it so much, I gave one to my brother for Christmas. He loves his as well. First off it is not a Miller. It does not use argon. It is not designed for heavy daily use. It is small, but looks are deceiving. It packs a punch. If you are a garage guy and need a 110 welder for your projects, this little guy performs. My garage does not have 220, so I was forced to use a 110 welder. I originally had a HF 110 mig. It was terrible compared to this one. This welder utilizes DC output and employs heavy capacitors to achieve extremely stable voltage/ current. Rock solid output. So no surprises to your welding puddle, while laying down a bead.
It is well built and easy to carry. I take this welder with me when off road camping and use my generator to power it.
I added a better grounding clamp and am using Lincoln .030 wire and tips now.
Not sure what else to say. It is an extremely good little welder for the money. I would highly recommend. I will probably look into other Arccaptain products after owning this and witnessing its performance for myself.
Hope this review helps someone.

A compact welder with an attractive price point. It operates seamlessly and is conveniently portable. Please note that it uses metric measurements, so some adjustments may be needed. Surprisingly powerful given its $200 price tag.

I had only welded a couple times in my life previous to buying this machine and am far from calling myself a welder. However, I was pleasantly surprised with the result from this machine. I successfully welded 1/8” angle iron into a shipping container for a window frame with minimal futzing around with the settings. I did burn two small holes through the corton steel of the container but was able to fill them back in easily and figure out the right setting / speed of welding without a whole lot of difficulty. The item description doesn’t list the 220v adapter as a component included however it seems that many people have gotten it included based off reviews and the video showing what comes in the box. Just be forewarned that you may not get one.

Not a big weilder but sure does a good job on small jobs that are in sticky places. Not a big metal mover but does weild metal together in a way that melts the metal together. Reasonable price to get small jobs done.

Just starting out learning to weld and this even comes with a booklet on the different types of welding capabilities it has. I am excited to start learning with this unit and become comfortable with it just like a Phillips head screwdriver

This welder is great & built better than the Harbor Freight welder for $449. Comparable to my last Lincoln welder but smaller. Packaging looked like it was repackaged when delivered. No issues found. The Harbor Freight welder kept tripping the breaker. This welder does not! I think it may be because of the inverter inside. The harbor freight welder tripped the circuit every 10mins. Some reviews say you need to be on a separate circuit solely dedicated to the welder on a 20amp+ breaker. Logic says yes due to the amperage but has yet to trip a 15amp breaker (for the possible buyers that only have a 15amp breaker to use, this will work) Very sturdy with a durable case and has a tip protector around the wire feed tip that harbor freight does not. It also allows you to stick weld/TIG weld. The trigger is built really well, close to an expensive name brand welder. I recently used this welder to build a trellis with 2in square tubing 8x5 ft. So far it is working great! I have only been using it for a little over a week. Technology has come along way! This unit is also lightweight, small and comes with a carrying strap so you can walk around with it hands free. I will follow up on this review if I encounter any future issues. Otherwise, this is a great buy for any project especially for the price

Great flexibility for different welding types, the gas option adds even more flexibility and control. The 110/220 Volt power source option is great. 110 is perfect for small projects that don’t need the full 200A of current but if you need more heat to create deeper welds, then the option for 220 Volts is where it’s at. The welder is compact, the digital display is clear and allows for full adjustment and selection of different modes. The built in cooling also helps keep the inverter cool, to ensure welds stay precise and consistent. Overall, great value and quality product.

Programmable settings, both MIG and TIG stick welding. Hookup for gas. This has every feature of a comparable Welder at half the price. My only observation is the 110 and 220v use the same wiring, just an adapter plug, so I'm not sure how durable it will be running 220 over time of if you are even getting the full benefit of 220. I found the welds to be quite clean and just as good as my $2500 Welder, but this is much more mobile and would make a great on the go Welder.

This thing rocks!

I"m brand new to MIG welding and so far I really like this machine. It does everything a starter machine should do. It comes with two different grounds (not sure why the Harbor Freight models only have one ground). It comes with a 2lb spool of .30 wire which is good to like 16 gauge. Oh and if you like stickers your in for treat!! :) Seriously it's a good machine no issues so far. It has a metal case instead of plastic the ground are about 6' but the MIG torch is only about 4' but who cares if you can reach your work you should be okay. IF I take welding up to the next level I'll stick with ArcCaptain products.

What a pleasant surprise this machine turned out to be!

I've been welding professionally since 1992, mostly structural steel. I like to think that I know my way around a welder.

This welder performs great for what it is. I'm building a homemade utility trailer, and used both the mig and stick functions on this welder. It will weld 1/4 in steel in a single pass and get decent penetration. I've also welded 3/8 in steel with 1/8 in 7018 rod, but for that, I beveled the joints and ran multipasses. It also welds thin sheet metal very well. The spatter you get off of it is very minimal, I don't even use spatter spray, there's barely anything to clean off.

The "puddle" it creates is easy to control in any position, including vertical up and overhead. The slag comes off with very little effort (most times you don't have to chip it, just hit it with a wire brush).

This welder is cheaper than the Titanium 125 Amp flux welder at Harbor Freight ($119 using Amazon $20 off coupon), and has stick and Tig capabilities as well (Titanium doesn't).

To set your "heat" on this machine, you only set the Amperage, there is no wire speed setting on it. This makes it very simple for beginners. Seriously, no matter where you set it, it will weld smooth (within reason). With stick, you'll have to dial it in according to the rod you're using and the material you're welding, but even that isn't challenging.

I don't have the Tig attachment so I can't rate how that works, but that's ok, I've only tig welded a handful of times and I'm not that good at it anyways.

If you're like me and don't have 220v in your garage, you NEED this welder!

Works even for the nonwelder

I find it very easy to use and useful for a non-welder somebody that is just put metal together and hoping for the best. I'm sure it does a lot better than I can utilize it

Exceeds my needs and expectations

Let me start by disclosing that I am not a professional welder by any means. I needed a welder to fix my lawnmower deck and other random things around the house. I saw this on Amazon for a really cheap price so I researched Arccaptain on YouTube to see some reviews and it seemed to be a great device. I watched 2 hours of how to weld videos on YouTube and ordered this welder. Everything about this unit seemed well designed and me with no experience except videos was able to setup up and use in about 5 minutes after unpacking the box. It was easy to adjust wire tension and power settings after seeing how to on videos. It is a solid welder that after practicing laying beads on a few pieces of metal I fixed many things around my home and fixed a few things for friends. I've used it to weld as thin as door sheetmetal skin back onto door frame on friends van to 1/4" material on farm implements that are still holding tight and strong. The unit itself is light and highly portable and is handy that you can plug into 120v so it can be used anywhere without needing 220v plug. The mig torch and feed are smooth and easy for a beginner to use and the supplied wire is strong and doesn't put off alot of spatter. I've already sent links to a few of my friends who have bought units themselves because they liked mine so much. Great product buy it!

Great machine for the homeowner.

For the weight and size of this machine, it sure can do quite a lot. I have not used it to TIG yet, but I have used it to MIG and stick weld and it ran consistent beads for 25 minutes without stopping. The leads are a good length for a machine of this size too. While I prefer to be in control of wire feed speed, this machine adjusts the wire feed speed based on the amperage you have it set to and it works great. It comes with a spool of flux core wire and a few MIG gun tips. The only thing I would change is the power cord length, it's fairly short.

Overall great machine at a great price for someone who doesn't need to do commercial work. For the average homeowner who needs to occasionally weld, this is perfect.

I got mine on Amazon and found myself very surprised that it was very compact but packs a nice punch. You get quite a bit of bang for your buck. I'm not a professional by any means but I found the setup very easy and quick with minimal issues. Definitely gonna get a lot of use out of it.
