How thick can the CUT55 Pro 55A plasma cutter cut?
On 240V, the CUT55 Pro delivers clean cuts up to 1/2 in. (12 mm) and a maximum severance cut of approximately 3/4 in. (20 mm). On 120V, it provides clean cuts up to about 5/16 in. (8 mm) and a maximum severance cut of approximately 1/2 in. (12 mm).
Actual results may vary based on the material, air pressure, consumable condition, cutting speed, and power supply.
Can I use it with a standard household outlet?
Yes, the CUT55 Pro can operate on 120V power. However, the available cutting output is lower than it is on 240V.
Does the CUT55 Pro have a built-in air compressor?
No. This plasma cutting machine requires an external air compressor.
The package includes a pre-installed air filter/regulator, air hose, and hose clamps. Simply connect a suitable air compressor, set the recommended pressure, and check all fittings for leaks before cutting.
What size air compressor do I need?
For stable cutting performance, we recommend an air compressor with:
- At least 90 PSI output pressure
- At least 5 CFM airflow
- A 10-gallon tank or larger
- A larger tank helps maintain consistent airflow during longer cuts. Always use clean, dry compressed air for better cut quality and longer consumable life.
Is the CUT55 Pro CNC-ready?
No. The CUT55 Pro is designed for handheld plasma cutting and does not include a CNC control interface.
What metals can this plasma cutting machine cut?
The CUT55 Pro can cut electrically conductive metals, including:

It cannot cut nonconductive materials such as wood, plastic, glass, stone, or concrete.
