It is seldom a product lives up to its advertising. The welder arrived well packed, as promised and it great condition. Overall quality is very good. The torch and work clamp are good quality and work as they should. All functions work as they should. The welds I have been able to do are great. I have yet to use the TIG function because I need to get Argon and a torch. If it is durable and lasts this will be an unbelievable purchase.

This seems like a real solid machine. I am more or less an experienced beginner and I can lay a prehetty nice bead with it. All the functions work just fine although the "burn back" seems to only be accessible at start up. Maybe I just need to figure it out.I haven't used Tig yet, I don't have proper gun for that and I have another Tig unit to use(uses different connection). I've only tried a few 6013's and the lit up real quick and nice.The "spool gun" advertisement up top is incorrect. It uses a Euro connection to connect a spool gun.It will control the start with the trigger input, the solenoid, and the spool gun 4 pin connector will supply power and control speed thru the wire speed dial(encoder).The unit feels solid, the nobs and encoders are smooth with nice resistance.You can definitely see the difference with the "Induction" control.I just can't report too much on the Synergy settings; haven't used them enough. The ones i have used; .030(.08) with gas setting seemed like it was in the upper range of the parameters but certainly usable with just minor tweaks. It may be all in technique(or maybe my ignorance).I like it.... a lot.

I received the item damaged (minor) and the company responded quickly with the replacement part. The build quality of this item was questionable because I was accustomed to using my Lincoln 135 which is built with heavier, more durable materials and switches. The body of the Arc Captain welder is made of very thin gage metal, and the plastic components are thin and light. The door latches are dainty, and one was broken when I received it and the metal door was bowed inward. I straightened the door without effort. Later, I compared the quality to the Harbor Freight Titanium and found that the Titanium was made of much more durable materials. I decided to send this welder back before I used it, therefore, I cannot attest to the function of the machine. I purchased the HF Titanium (albeit for a lot more $). I considered that the manufacturer may have intentionally used lightweight materials for portability, but I wondered if the electronic components would hold up over time. This may be a great little machine, but its lightweight build made me question its long term durability.

The ARCCAPTAIN welder delivers what it says it does. Ran solid .030 with ease in synergic, also ran some test welds in manual mode. Swapped out the solid for some .030 gasless and it performed just as good. Switching over to stick it had clean starts and amperage seemed right on with some ESAB 7018. The package does not come with a tig torch so was not able to test at this time. Setup was quick and easy, overall well sorted, pull the trigger for a few seconds and it goes into quick feed mode for loading wire. This machine should also be easy to upgrade to larger torch with the euro backend if needed. It has an option for a spoolgun to do aluminum also. It has memory to program presets and per instructions can also manipulate the welding preset parameters.The inside seems put together nice. Can't find any flaws in the package as it shipped with plenty of options for upgrades along the way. It does not come with a welding chart but easy enough to find one online if needed. The only thing I would change is the meters to minute to inches per minute on the wire feed speed, I am so used to IPM this seemed kind of strange and had to do some calculations in manual mode to make sure my parameters were correct.Posted a quick video of what the welder will do with supplied options. It does not ship with any wire but has all the different size drive rolls and tips to cover whatever you desire.

If you like Lincolns Mig welder but can't see spending the $1500.00 on it, this welder is well matched and perfectly priced. As usual before I buy, I looked at countless welders, read reviews and went off Amazon to look up companies. This welder came out among the top. I used a borrowed Lincoln to do floors in my Mustang and wish I had this machine instead. The spot welder option is awesome. From delivery to set up and use I am really impressed. I bought a gas regulator and cart from harbor freight, a roll of wire from Inefil on here and got playing to see what this welder could do. Settings are great, simple and you can fine tune your wire speed and amps. The welder came with some consumables and different feed wheels. I will only be using it for gas Mig but it does come with an awesome Arc stinger as well. The 110/220 option is also awesome if you don't have a 220 hookup but I will be using it mainly for 220. This welder is a perfect addition to my garage and will get plenty of use !

I have been really impressed with the ArcCaptain MIG200 multi-process welder. I bought this welder as an upgrade and replacement for my old Millermatic 140 welder. This ArcCaptain welder has so much more versatility, adjustment, and power compared to the old basic transformer MIG welder I'm coming from. The build quality is excellent, although it may not be as durable as a big name brand, but for DIY hobby use in the garage it will be more than tough enough.The welder comes with almost everything you need to MIG or stick weld out of the box. The only items you'll need to pick up are your MIG wire, shielding gas (unless you run flux-core wire), a gas regulator, or your stick welding electrodes. The welder comes with extra MIG consumables and uses standard tweco style contact tips readily available. 3 different styles of wire drive rolls are provided; V-groove for solid wire, knurled groove for flux wire, and U-groove for aluminum wire. Unfortunately ArcCaptain appears to have a packaging issue though because even with 7 drive rolls included in the kit none of them have a groove sized for running 0.035" (0.9mm) wire of any type. Hopefully they correct this issue in the future.This welder welds nicely and creates an easy to control weld bead. I'm a little rusty with my handwork so the inconsistencies in my test welds were the result of my own travel speed issues and not the welder. The Synergistic MIG functionality is really nice and provides a really good starting point for MIG weld settings. The one thing that ArcCaptain completely fails to mention in their user manual though is that when your in Synergistic mode you MUST set the AMPERAGE level appropriate for the material thickness being welded and then the machine will adjust the voltage and wire feed speed accordingly. For any beginner, just follow this rule of thumb and use 1 Amp for ever 0.001" of material thickness (ex. for welding 1/8" thick steel start with the welder set to 125A in synergistic mode and adjust the voltage from there if the weld is too hot/cold for your liking).My only minor complaints about the welder, aside from the missing 0.035" drive rolls, are that ArcCaptain didn't include a MIG setup chart sticker inside the door cover (which is standard practice on all MIG machines), and that the unit comes wired for 110V input and they provide a 110V to 220V adapter cable. I think this practice of passing 220V through a 110V plug is poor design and may even be a violation of certain electrical safety codes. The better design would've been to have a 220V cable wired to the unit and adapt down to a 110V plug when needed.Overall this ArcCaptain MIG200 welder is a great value for all of the functionality it provides. It provides many more advanced features typically reserved for welders 2-3X the price of this unit. ArcCaptains support team has also been very helpful and responsive to my emails and the customer support is excellent for an international company. I'd highly recommend this welder to anyone looking for an excellent value multi-process MIG welder.

On the 110 volt portion of the welder, flux core works very well, BUT had a issue hooking up to 220. I've contacted the manufacturer and I'm working with them on a solution to my problem. So far costumer service is good. I'll be updating this review. Update. Customer service is the best I've ever delt with. This welder is top notch and excellent customer service I highly recommend this company very much. The welder has a lot of features that take a little bit of getting used to.Update. The people over at Arc Captain are definitely a class act. The have made right any problems that I had with their product. I am very impressed with there service and welder. If only more companies would be like them, it would be a better world. They definitely stand behind their products and I would highly recommend them.

Got this 4/23 used a couple times on 110v mig and stick got 220 ran and it wouldn't turn spent a couple hours Making sure power was at plug, adapter and into the welder witch it was so its internal. Emailed arccaptain they basically repeated my complaint in a question just to make sure they understood I confirmed yes never herd back there's a 2 yr warranty emailed Amazon they said oh its passed our 30 day return policy so sorry so I guess "warranty" is just a BS word they can put there just to make you feel safe -updated- so arccaptain got back to me it was a bit late but the reason was understandable and they corrected the issue promptly. They have been great to work with after the one hiccup but all in all they seem to be a decent company and the welder is pretty awesome! I've used it on 110 and 220 mig and arc from exhaust to 3/4" steel on my tow truck it did great

This welder is great & built better than the Harbor Freight welder for $449. Comparable to my last Lincoln welder but smaller. Packaging looked like it was repackaged when delivered. No issues found. The Harbor Freight welder kept tripping the breaker. This welder does not! I think it may be because of the inverter inside. The harbor freight welder tripped the circuit every 10mins. Some reviews say you need to be on a separate circuit solely dedicated to the welder on a 20amp+ breaker. Logic says yes due to the amperage but has yet to trip a 15amp breaker (for the possible buyers that only have a 15amp breaker to use, this will work) Very sturdy with a durable case and has a tip protector around the wire feed tip that harbor freight does not. It also allows you to stick weld/TIG weld. The trigger is built really well, close to an expensive name brand welder. I recently used this welder to build a trellis with 2in square tubing 8x5 ft. So far it is working great! I have only been using it for a little over a week. Technology has come along way! This unit is also lightweight, small and comes with a carrying strap so you can walk around with it hands free. I will follow up on this review if I encounter any future issues. Otherwise, this is a great buy for any project especially for the price10.7.23 still going strong after making a gabion wall, trellis, fence & gate. This welder is not only for beginners it is great for experienced welders that need the portable option functioning on a 110 20amp outlet with a regular extension cord hooked to a power strip. Some clients don't have the power needed for other welders and this does the job. It would be nice to be able to turn off the auto speed adjust on wire feed, but it helps with the beginner. Lots of welding options for a great price!

One problem, clamp cable separated. Prevent this before using. Electrical tape the cable to the plastic plug housing. This secures the cable to the housing pug.The rest is all good. Skill is keeping hands steady and distance gap. I've been schooled on Stick Welding and have done a lot of Stick Welding. Comparison MIG welding is very easy with good results. MIG has fewer decisions to make. Three Metal flux wire thickness. This welder has wire feed rate adjustment.Just drag the bead and watch the wire dive into the weld pool. The user controls the rate of drag to produce the amount of weld deposited.

I had only welded a couple times in my life previous to buying this machine and am far from calling myself a welder. However, I was pleasantly surprised with the result from this machine. I successfully welded 1/8” angle iron into a shipping container for a window frame with minimal futzing around with the settings. I did burn two small holes through the corton steel of the container but was able to fill them back in easily and figure out the right setting / speed of welding without a whole lot of difficulty.The item description doesn’t list the 220v adapter as a component included however it seems that many people have gotten it included based off reviews and the video showing what comes in the box. Just be forewarned that you may not get one.Update: fixed a trailer gate bracket today and am quite happy with the result (photo)

Great welder for the hobbiest or weekend warrior! The only issue I've had is the spring holder for the mig wire spool broke. It seems like the plastic prongs holding the spring bracket down are very small and fragile.Overall it has been a fantastic little welder.

This may be one of the best bargains on Amazon. The machine has handled everything I've thrown at it for the last month. The main reason I purchased it was for MIG welding and it has excelled at that. I've run about 5lbs of .030 wire through it about 2lbs of .035 through it without a hitch. I don't use flux core, so I can't comment on that.It has worked well for stick welding, all the way up to max current. I've run 3/32", 1/8" and even 5/32" rods without ever approaching duty cycle limits. The rods were 6011, 6013 and 7018s.I went ahead and purchased the TIG torch assembly and have used it quite a lot. I'm still in the learning stages of TIG welding, but have successfully welded mild steel and stainless from 16 guage up to 3/16".There was a little learning curve for the lift arc start. More on this to follow.Some say the machine is light and flimsy. The metal is thin and leads are pretty light, but this doesn't affect the performance. The cables get warm at higher currents, but they work. If I had to complain about anything it would be how easy it is to get fine scratches on the display.With my renewed interest in TIG welding and my satisfaction with the ARCCAPTAIN equipment, so far, I am considering purchasing their AC/DC tig machine. The MIG 200 does not work with the foot pedal or have any way to vary current while tig welding. The more advanced features of a dedicated TIG machine would be beneficial if that is your primary function, especially if working with aluminum.

This little welder is amazing. I've been using a Hobart machine for as needed for years. It gave up the ghost and I found this one looking at reviews. I watched several YT video reviews and said " why not? Its cheap and if it works half as good as the reviews, I will get my monies worth". Let me say I welded 8- 2x2" .120 wall welds, 20- 1.5"x1.5" .120, and 12 .75"x.75" . 080 wall welds. First weld I tried at 90a and burned through quickly. Thought that was odd but backed it down to 60 and had a concave profile so it was still hotter than necessary. I backed it down to 50a and it made perfect welds. The absolute smoothest feed I've even seen in this type of machine. Their wire is really good too. If I needed a new hood I wouldn't hesitate to buy their hood too.

This arccaptain 130 is so easy to use. I purchased it with the intention of teaching myself how to weld and complete some projects around my place. I ordered this welder and watched some you tube videos (weld.com) (favorite) to pick up does and don’ts. The welder arrived and I set it up in nothing flat and was melting steel. I can’t say enough good about this welder, seriously, it is that easy to use and get great results. The included wire for this welder is really smooth running and doesn’t have a an extreme amount of spatter. This welder does prefer you run the wire on the short side (stick out) but it lets you know if you listen to it. It sputters slightly when the stick out is to long so just push the tip closer and she purrs. I’ve run about 1/2 the roll of wire practicing different techniques learned from weld.com and am able to run a pretty darn good bead already. I also ran some 6013 and 7018 3/16 rod and this welder handles that with no issues. I ran the welder on a 20 amp breaker and have never had it trip off.I had planned to learn on this welder and then maybe purchase something bigger, but I have changed my mind about that. This welder will do everything I need it to do.I’m just so impressed. This is a powerhouse in a very small package. A truly go anywhere welder.Great product arccaptain! Thank you!

I'm admittedly a rookie but I do my research.I like the versatility of this machine, especially that dual voltage.I started out trying the MMA welding on 110 on a circuit with dual 20amp breaker. The breaker blows in about 3-4 inches of weld. Turns out on 110 this uses just over 40 amps so that explains why that is happening.Now I'm thinking I need to use 220 volt but my outlet is kind of buried and I need to get outdoors to use the gasless flux core mig setup without poisoning myself with the fumes.So start researching 50 amp extension cords. Everything points to needing a 6 gauge cord, at $125. Mo money, mo money. I looked at the power cord which comes with the machine to see if I can use an 8 gauge extension.it's marked with European markings which state wire size as 3 x 2.08mm. This isn't even 14 gauge wire. What's up with that? This machine uses just over 40 amps on 110 and just over 30 amps on 220. Nothing in my experience says 14 gauge wire is sufficient for that amperage so this is a mystery.I'd like to now try Gasless/flux core MIG welding but the knurled flux core roller which comes with the machine is .8mm and 1.0mm. This is for .030 and .040 wire. .030 wire is for relatively thin steel. I have .030 and .035.When I contacted customer service they wrote that I would have to buy another roller. Of course I thought about just buying some .040 wire which would be even better for thicker steel than. 035, only to find out that .040 flux core wire is not very common. When I searched for 1.0mm flux core wire I discovered that some sellers are advertising .035 wire as 1mm wire. More confusion. My research leads me to believe that they are not the same and the groove must be the right size for the wire or our won't feed correctly. Interestingly the manufacturer supplies .8, .9, and 1.0mm nipples for the MIG gun. This means they give you a nipple for .035 wire but no drive roller.I finally found a correct drive roller which is sized for .9mm (.035) and 1.2mm (.045) flux core wire. However it must come from China so long shipping time. More than half the cost is shipping and tax. They could have included it for probably a couple dollars.Very disappointing that they don't.In a nutshell all this makes it so that I will have very little time to actually test this machine before the return window closes.I am thinking that perhaps I should just return it regardless.Further, they supply a hose for gas MIG welding but no regulator. Regulators available on Amazon frequently throw in a hose so what's the point of including a hose with no regulator? Keep the hose and provide the proper rollers. That would be more beneficial.Are all these multifunction welders like this? Not really complete kits?This seemed to be so good in comparison, #2 rated machine on Amazon. It's frustrating to need to get so many unsupplied parts to get complete functionality.Also ArcCaptain doesn't seem to have replacement parts available. They don't even have the rollers they do supply for sale. I don't know of these wear out or not. Still if one gets lost, what then?I called a local welding supply about the roller situation was told that these are specific to the brand and I should buy them from Manufacturer. You can see the problem here.I think the biggest part of the problem seems to be endemic on Amazon in that too many sellers do not supply all the pertinent and readily avaliable information regarding the products they sell, most commonly simple dimensions or size information.

This welder was for my son who will be writing the rest of this. This welder can do mig,mig spool gun, tig(gun sold separately), stick, flux core,etc. Very simple to use and sturdy. It has synergic mode that sets wire feed speed automatically it seems. It performs very very nicely with sturdy thick cables,and you can switch polarity on the outside with just a twist. It even has a freaking light in the wire loading area so you can see. Comes with a generous amount of extra tips and wire wheels. The ground clamp has braided copper wire which i like. Look at the review on YouTube by NBSWELDING where he tried to kill it,very informative. Also very good gloves and helmet by arccaptain as well

If you can get over the cheesy overrated specs, inconsistent weld settings which aren’t linear, cheesy aluminum buss bars inside, the cheap ground clamps, weird hard to understand manual, for what you pay for it 360$ it’s a decent welder for its capabilities nice features like metal rollers built in light for the feed compartment, flux/mug/lift tig/stick it’s a good to ok welder, it seems to have some inconsistent arc issues with synergies settings, it really likes a short lead when welding, I think that is due to the recessed than normal mig torch it comes with the copper tip is a bit on the short side, anyways for the price point it’s a good deal as long as you keep the price point in mind for what the welder is capable of and it’s versatile features, the ratings are kinda bs, some peeps have clamped it out at only 180amps on 240v so I say get it if your on a really tight budget

I'm am by far NOT a welder, it's an art of itself. First time using it very simple operation. There is a learning curve for beginners but I don't think there's anything else that can beat the price. If your are a DIY sort of person it's a great welder for small jobs and metal thickness isn't to large.
